This workshop series will give you the methodology, process and tools to begin or deepen a practice in driving organizational change, such as System Implementations, Reorganizations or Acquisition Integration. It will also help you understand more about consulting as a career option.

We created this workshop for HR-professionals, Project Managers, OD Practitioners and Business Administration students.

Individual workshops - $350; Complete workshop series in organizational change - $1200; 25%discount for students. The workshops will be held in the Palo Alto, lunch will be provided. There are only 15 seats in this class, register early!



WORKSHOP LEADERS

Christian von Bogdandy:  Chris has over fifteen years experiencein driving large scale change efforts. His experience includes driving change as a Director at Cisco Systems Inc. and Gap Inc. as well as a consultant with Bearing Point and Andersen Business Consulting.  As a consultant he was working with companies such as GE, Coke, Chevron and Intel.

Darren Shon: Darren has over ten years of consulting experience with Accenture, leading change management efforts for sales organizations and system implementations at companies such as Cisco Systems, Applied Materials and Intel.  Most recently, Darren was a Senior Manager in Accenture's Talent and Organizational Performance group and was responsible for over 30 Accenture professionals on the Cisco account in San Jose.

SATURDAY  FEBRUARY 21ST, 2009  - 10am - 3pm

  • Introduction to the course
  • Organizational Change Theories and  Practices
    This workshop reviews the major contributors to the theories of organizational change, from William Bridges to John Kotter.  We will also examine how methodologies have developed in large organizations and the context between Change Management and Project Management.

  • Introduction To  Organizational  Consulting; An Industry Overview
    This workshop outlines different types of consulting firms and their market positioning. We will also look at different type of consulting service buyers.  We will introduce the lifestyle of a consultant, how to structure a career inthis field and ways to get started as a practitioner.

SATURDAY  FEBRUARY 28TH, 2009  - 10am - 3pm

  • Diagnosing  Different  Types  Of  Organizational  Change
    Different types of change require different types of change strategies. A frequent mistake in driving change is to ignore this fact and to deploy a standardized, template driven change management approach. This workshop will introduce how to categorize different types of changes and how and when to deploy an assessment to identify the type of change.

  • Developing  A  Change  Strategy  And Plan
    Based on the type and magnitude of change a program is required to create a change strategy and plan, which includes major workstreams, business engagement models and the required staffing model for the change team. This workshop outlines how to create a change strategy and plan, its major components and how to create buy in from stakeholders and project management team.

  • Deep Dive On Core Tools: Communication, Training, Stakeholder, Assessment, Adoption Metrics, Business Readiness, Team Effectiveness.  Most programs require a minimum set of tools, which every change management practitioner should be familiar with. This course will explain these tools with real life examples, their objectives and how to customize them based on the situational aspect of the change.
  • Selling Organizational Change Services: different type of buyers, how to position your services, pricing, master serivce agreements, etc. Some say selling Change Management is selling the invisible. We believe that there is a solid ROI on Change Management services. This workshops expands on the different types of buyers, how to position Change Management services and how to develop the correct contractual basis for the services.
SATURDAY  MARCH  14TH, 2009  - 10am - 3pm

  • Overview to large-scale Organizational Change Large-scale transformations require a different approach than smaller, evolutionary change projects. This workshop will explain, with real life examples, the consequences of managing a large-scale transformation like a project with a lesser degree of change, what the key differences are and how to approach a large-scale transformation. This workshop is only an introduction to large-scale transformations, since this topic is too complex to cover in the allotted time frame.
  • Key tools in large-scale change; Strategy Mapping and Journey Mapping organizational change consultant is frequently asked to support the leadership team in translating the strategic objectives of a transformation into a roadmap, which serves as the foundation of the program. This workshop explains this process and key tools used.
